Write a script in the Scripts tab

Open the Scripts tab on a pre-production or production project. Click New script to start one.

The most important thing to understand: a script is a deliverable. Write it here and it already exists as a card on the post-production board, with its own shot list in production. Nothing is copied or converted along the way.

Writing

The editor works like a modern document editor:

• Press / for blocks — headings, lists, tables and a Scene block.
• Select text for a floating format bar.
• Drag blocks to rearrange them.
• Everything autosaves — you will see Saving… then Saved.

The placeholder reminds you: "Write the script — or press '/' for blocks…"

Scenes feed the shot list

Scenes are distinct, clearly marked blocks. Every scene you add shows up in the Shot lists tab, named after its script heading, ready for you to plan shots under it. Structure the script the way you intend to shoot it and the shot list builds itself.

Everything about the script lives in the writer

You do not have to leave the editor to manage the deliverable. Set the Script status and assignee from the header, and open Details for the description, due date, export settings, music and notes. New scripts inherit the project's export specs automatically.

Generating with AI

Click Generate to have the assistant work on the script. When the script already has content the dialog opens on improve — it keeps your structure and your scenes rather than replacing them.

Switching to start fresh is still available, behind a clear warning: "Starting fresh replaces your current draft — there's no undo."

Generation runs on your workspace's AI credit balance, the same balance the assistant uses.

Reordering and deleting

Drag scripts in the list to reorder them. Delete script asks for confirmation and warns you what goes with it: "Delete this script? This also removes its deliverable card; shots become unassigned."

Starting from nothing

An empty project offers two ways in: Write the first script, or Start the moodboard if you would rather gather references on the Canvas before you write.
