Distribution: schedule, publish and report

The fifth phase for teams that also publish the work and report back on it.

Distribution is the phase after approval, for teams that also schedule, publish and report on the finished videos. It is optional β€” plenty of workspaces go straight from Approved to Completed.

Getting there

Use the Ready for distribution button in the project header, or accept the prompt when every deliverable reaches Approved.

Sending an approved project to distribution moves the card off the post-production board and onto the distribution board immediately β€” no refresh needed.

The statuses

Deliverables arrive in an intake column β€” Ready β€” and then move along:

  1. Scheduled β€” publication is planned.
  2. Published β€” it is live.
  3. Reported β€” results have been reported back to the client. This is the end of distribution.

The project board mirrors this with a Waiting intake column ahead of Scheduled, Published and Reported.

What the phase looks like

Distribution shares the post-production tab set: the Deliverables board plus Overview, Documents, Notes, Tasks, Finance, Quote, Timesheet and Activity (and Chat if your workspace has the chat beta). The board columns are the distribution statuses.

The phase has its own sidebar entry at /projects/distribution, and its columns are editable under Settings β†’ Statuses & boards like any other board.

Finishing

When every deliverable reaches Reported, the app offers to complete the project. Mark completed files it into the Completed phase.

If you do not use distribution

Skip it entirely. Distribution is opt-in by design β€” approved work is simply done, and nothing will nag a workspace that stops at post-production into scheduling and publishing.
